A 15 year old Dalwhinnie single malt from the Highlands, bottled in the 1980s. It has a pale gold colour.
The nose is malty and full-bodied with some smoke, bringing hot praline, pastries, light toffee and cappuccino, then bananas, rum-soaked pineapple, dried coconut and pine needles. On the palate it is smooth, sweet and very malty, with a winey side reminiscent of sweet white wine, then liquorice, smoked tea, roasted nuts and a hint of mint. The finish is very long, balanced between fruit and caramel.
