This is a 36 year old Highland single malt from Dalwhinnie, distilled in 1966 and bottled by the distillery at a cask strength of 47.2% ABV. The release was limited to 1,500 bottles. The colour is amber. The nose starts a little yeasty, with plenty of oak, tannins and lactones, then moves to nutty, grassy and herbal notes with a hint of mashed potato. The palate is smooth and mellow, turning grassy and fruity with passion fruit and mango, then burnt caramel, tea and white pepper. It grows steadily oakier without becoming drying. The finish is long and somewhat grassy.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
