Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Highlands, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands 326 metres above sea level in the Grampian mountains, making it the highest in Scotland.
It was founded in 1897 by James Buchanan and was first called Strathspey. Its malt became a core component of the Buchanan and Black & White blends. Dalwhinnie is Gaelic for meeting place, after the site where cattle drovers and smugglers met on their way south to market.
