Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition 2000 is a Highland single malt, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2016. It is a limited, double matured release, finished in Oloroso sherry casks.
The Oloroso sherry leads, yet notes of heather honey still come through.
The nose offers honey, mint chocolate and Jazz apples. On the palate come raspberry compote, more apples, fresh barley and a gentle hint of peat smoke. The finish has clove-studded orange and a pinch of cinnamon, with the light smoke lingering.
