Dalwhinnie 30 Year Old is a single malt from Diageo's 2019 Special Releases, bottled at 54.7% in a 70cl bottle. It spent three decades maturing in a combination of refill hogsheads and butts.
The nose offers raisins, leather, lemon and cinnamon-baked apples, with mint, grape jelly, honeysuckle, spring meadows and hay. On the palate come summer flowers, vanilla toffee, delicate oak spice and slices of apple and pear.
The finish brings zesty lemon, candied flowers, crystallised ginger and buttery shortbread biscuits.
