Dalwhinnie – 8 Year Old 1980s Bottling (75cl, 40%)

This is Dalwhinnie 8 Year Old from a 1980s bottling, in the older 75cl bottle at 40%. The label carries the signature of James Buchanan and describes the contents as a pure malt with a unique flavour. The back label places the distillery among the highest in Scotland, in bleak, wild country ringed by the Grampian mountains, at the end of Loch Ericht and near the source of the Spey. It also recalls Cluny's Cave on the west shore of the loch, where Bonnie Prince Charlie hid after Culloden.
