Dalwhinnie – Distillers Edition 2022 (70cl, 43%)

This is the 2022 release of Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition, part of the Classic Malts range. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, after a secondary maturation in Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks. The Oloroso finish adds sweet exotic fruit and nutty sherry notes to Dalwhinnie's gentle maltiness. The official notes describe a lightly heathery, sweetly honeyed nose with nutty Oloroso, banana, pineapple, apricot and walnut. The palate is creamy and honey sweet, with nutmeg and pepper, and the finish is quite long, with white pepper and vanilla-rich oak spice.
