Dalwhinnie Double Matured is a Highland single malt, also known as the Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition, bottled at 43% ABV.
It is matured in two stages: first in traditional oak casks, then in Oloroso sherry casks for a finishing period. The sherry finish adds depth and sweetness to the distillery's gentle style.
The nose brings heather honey, vanilla, sultanas and dried apricot. On the palate it is silky, with honeycomb, toffee, raisins and gentle spice. The finish is medium and warming, with honey, dried fruits and oak spice.
