Dalwhinnie – Winter's Gold (70cl, 43%)

Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is a Highland single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is distilled in winter, when the distillery's outdoor worm tubs cool the vapour more quickly, and this winter bottling takes on less copper influence. Dalwhinnie lies at 326 metres, making it one of the highest distilleries in Scotland. Its Gaelic name means meeting place, as does the name of the village. Whisky smuggling once flourished here, and the distillery now belongs to Diageo.
