Dalwhinnie – Winter's Gold (43%)

Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is a Highland single malt bottled at 43%. Dalwhinnie, known as the coldest and highest distillery in Scotland, designed it to reflect the harsh winter conditions of its region. The whisky is distilled during the coldest months, so that the freezing temperatures influence maturation. It is described as more powerful, spicier and more saline than the distillery's usual honeyed style. The nose offers banana, vanilla, candied lemon and kiwi, moving to liquorice, coffee and acacia honey. The palate brings vanilla and cream, then star anise, clove and roasted coffee, and the finish carries salt, dates and prunes.
