Dalwhinnie – Winter's Gold (70cl, 43%)

Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold is a Highland single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled only during the cold winter months, which gives a noticeably softer spirit. The distillery's condensers sit outdoors, so the vapour cools faster and the copper has less influence. It was matured in bourbon and sherry casks. The nose has strong honey notes with fruit, caramel and a little smoke in the background. The palate is smooth and gentle, with honey, caramel and ripe fruit. The finish is long and warming, with sweetness, raisins and chocolate.
