This is a 24 year old Allt-a Bhainne single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2021 by Darach. It was matured in a single ex-bourbon cask and bottled at its natural cask strength of 46.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration. 171 bottles were filled.
Allt-a Bhainne is a slightly peated Speyside, and this bottling carries a gentle smoky note, though sweetness leads.
The nose opens with light smoke, then freshly cut green apples, pears, vanilla and buttermilk. The palate is smooth and sweet, with a slight trace of peat on the tongue, and the finish is spicy.
