This is the fourth core expression from Dark Arts Whiskey House, a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 100 proof. The mash bill is 64% corn, 24% rye and 12% malted barley, and the whiskey is finished with toasted Mizunara oak.
The nose offers butterscotch and sandalwood with toasted oak, dried berries, vanilla custard and fresh bread. The palate is rich and creamy, with gingerbread spice, lemon, cardamom and nutmeg. The finish is long, with sugar cookie dough, baking spices, leather, toffee and stewed fruits.
