Daviess County Double Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon made by Master Distiller John Rempe at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown. It is bottled at 48% (96 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It starts as the Daviess County blend of ryed and wheated bourbons.
The second barrel of the name is Missouri white oak with toasted heads. This is a Ducks Unlimited licensed limited edition, released in September 2021 and made with the conservation group.
The nose is crisp toasted oak, caramel and vanilla. The palate brings sweet caramel, honey and toasted marshmallow, and the finish is caramelised sugar and lingering dark chocolate from the toasted heads.
