Blood Oath Pact No. 6 is the 2020 release in Lux Row's annual Blood Oath series, a Kentucky straight bourbon blended by John Rempe from three bourbons aged 14, 8 and 7 years. It is bottled at 49.3% (98.6 proof).
Only the seven year old component was given a secondary maturation, in cognac casks. The 14 year old brings oak, leather and tobacco, while the 8 year old adds cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.
The nose opens with raisin moving into cherry. The palate runs to roasted caramel and honeyed raisin with building spice, and the finish is Kentucky heat with a touch of crème brûlée sweetness.
