Deanston – 12 Year Old (70cl, 46.3%)

This is the relaunched Deanston 12 Year Old, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46.3% ABV. The strength is slightly higher than before, which removes the need for chill-filtration and lets the whisky keep more of its original character. The nose is light and cereal-led, with zesty orange marmalade and barley. The palate is soft and nutty, with caramel, a touch of salinity and oak. The finish is soft, fairly abrupt and caramel-led.
