Deanston 18 Year Old is an unpeated Highland single malt, bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. It spent all eighteen years in ex-bourbon casks of American white oak, and it is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
The distillery stands in a former cotton mill on the River Teith, built in 1785 and converted into a distillery in 1966.
The nose brings blossom, malt and fresh grass with vanilla and honey, and hints of tobacco and nutmeg. On the palate barley sugar and manuka honey meet citrus and ginger biscuit, with white pepper and a waxy texture. The finish is dry and spicy, warming with ginger and honey.
