This is a 12 year old Deanston single malt from the 2007 vintage, distilled and filled into bourbon casks before a finish in calvados casks.
The whisky spent two years in casks that previously held French cider. That time adds a crunch to a soft, honeyed malt, almost like biting into an apple.
It is described as fresh and crisp, with the sweetness of green apples alongside candied fruit and citrus zest.
