This Deanston is a 12-year-old Highland single malt matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021 at 52.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Cherries and chocolate, like black forest gateau, lead the nose, followed by sweet spice, nutmeg and sultanas. The palate offers treacle toffee, dark fruits and festive spice, with hints of mocha and a little pine needle. The finish is long and warming, with lingering gingerbread and nutmeg.
