Deanston Virgin Oak is a Highland single malt from the Deanston distillery in Doune, Perthshire. It was matured first in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in new Kentucky oak casks, which gives the whisky its name. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour and bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is lemon peel, sweet and syrupy, with heather honey and vanilla. The palate brings butterscotch, vanilla ice cream and creamy toffee. The finish has freshly cut sweet grass and notes of oak.
