Deanston – Virgin Oak

Deanston Virgin Oak is a Highland single malt made only from Scottish barley and yeast, and certified organic. It is not chill-filtered and was bottled at a higher strength. The whisky was matured in Kentucky bourbon casks. Some casks of young whisky were married and then finished in charred new American oak. The distillery stands in a former cotton mill and resumed production in 1991, after closing in the mid-1980s. The nose is fine lemon peel, sweet and syrupy. The palate has butterscotch and the sweetness of real vanilla ice cream. The finish carries notes of freshly cut sweet grass.
