This is an independent bottling of Highland single malt from Ardmore Distillery, distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2026 at 27 years old. Only 236 bottles were filled, at 52.8% ABV.
The whisky spent its first 23 years in refill wood, then four more in a second-fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead, joining Ardmore peat with sherry richness.
The nose offers soft peat smoke and waxy malt, then dried fruits, orange peel, old leather, toasted nuts and dark honey. The palate is rich and oily, with earthy peat, dark chocolate and caramelised nuts, developing pepper and polished oak. The finish is long and gently smoky.
