Decadent Drinks Caol Ila 35 Year Old

This is a 35 year old Caol Ila single malt from Decadent Drinks, the Islay distillery known for its smoky style. The nose is round and waxy, with lemon zest, golden melon, sweet pear and a little honey, then iodine, pebblestones, hay and mineral oils, with faint ashes in the distance. On the palate, faded smoke and smouldering peat sit alongside fatty notes, sunflower oil and a faint fruitiness, turning sharper mid-palate with oyster juice, white pepper and green tea. The finish is medium to long and warming, with tobacco, warm smoke and medicinal hints.
