Dewar's 12 Year Old The Ancestor (40%)

Dewar's 12 Year Old The Ancestor is a blended Scotch whisky made from malt and grain whiskies aged for at least twelve years, bottled at 40%. After the blend is married it spends several more months together in oak casks, a double ageing overseen by master blender Stephanie Macleod. The colour is warm amber. On the nose there are ripe pears, roasted barley, almond and golden honey. The palate is soft and creamy, with malt, honey, a touch of buttered toast and a little aniseed spice. The finish is long and malty, with a faint hint of smoke.
