Dewar's 16 Year Old Double Agent is a blended Scotch whisky in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 40%. Dewar's whiskies always go through a second period of ageing, and this edition is then split in two for finishing.
One part is finished in ex-sherry casks and the other in casks that previously held smoky Islay whisky. The two are then brought back together, giving a sweet whisky with smoky notes.
The nose balances sherry-cask sweetness with Islay smoke, alongside ripe apricots, honey and subtle cinnamon and clove. The palate is full and fruity with touches of smoke, and the finish is long.
