Dewar's 8 Year Old Portuguese Smooth is a blended Scotch whisky finished in Port casks. It is the third release in an innovative cask series, and the first time this finishing process has been applied to the brand's double aged blend. The bottling is described as a celebration of Portugal and Scotland.
The nose offers raspberry jam, red grapes and a hint of figs, with honeycomb and muted spices. On the palate are ripe apricot, melon and dark fruit with honey and a distinct creaminess. The finish is smooth and rich, with lingering vanilla.
