Dewar's Double Double 21 Year is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It was developed by Dewar's Master Blender Stephanie Macleod, with Aberfeldy single malt as its backbone, and it is non-chill filtered.
Single malt and single grain whiskies are aged separately for 21 years. Each group is blended and returned to cask, then the two blends are married and aged again before a final finish in Oloroso sherry casks.
Honeyed almonds, stone fruit, vanilla and citrus zest lead the nose. The palate brings praline, tinned peach, grilled pineapple, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. The finish is long, with figs, prunes, caramel and tannic oak.
