Don Felix Añejo is a tequila made from 100% blue agave, double distilled and aged for two years and eight months in virgin American oak. It is produced by Destiladora de Los Altos in the highlands of Jalisco, and the ageing runs well past the one-year minimum for an añejo.
The nose offers peach, clover honey, caramel, cinnamon and cigar box, with ancho chile, black pepper and orange. The palate is creamy and medium-weight, with roasted agave at the centre, caramel, cinnamon and black pepper, and orange keeping it lively. The finish is long, returning to roasted agave with nutmeg, honey and toasted oak.
