This is a 10 year old Islay single malt from the Caol Ila distillery, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range at 48.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The character is smoky, with fresh citrus and a coastal edge.
The nose brings peat, lemon zest and salty sea air, with light vanilla and green apple. The palate is lively, with Islay smoke, citrus, malty sweetness and a little pepper. The finish runs medium to long, smoky and lightly dry, with ash, sea salt and a touch of citrus.
