This is a 16 year old single grain Scotch whisky from Port Dundas, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range at 54.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2004 and is one of 748 bottles from a single bourbon cask, finished in a Pedro Ximenez sherry butt.
Port Dundas was built in Glasgow in 1811 and closed in 2010.
The nose is fudgey, with brown sugar, wood shavings and almonds. Treacle toffee on the palate develops into cinnamon, ripe plums and juicy raisins, and the finish is rich in cocoa, with spiced oak, honeyed cereal and fruit cake.
