Rock Island Tequila Cask is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition of the Rock Island blend, which brings together malts from Islay, Jura, Arran and Orkney. After maturing in oak, the whisky is finished in tequila casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose offers sea spray, charred oak and citrus zest, with a hint of agave sweetness and coastal peat. On the palate, honeyed malt and sea salt sit alongside lime peel and white pepper, and the texture is oily. The finish is long, with smoke, salt and soft agave sweetness.
