Douglas Laing's Scallywag Speyside Blended Malt (70cl, 46%)

Scallywag is a small batch Speyside blended malt from Douglas Laing, made from Speyside malts that include Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered, in a 70cl bottle. Its dark, rich colour comes from the Spanish sherry butts used for maturation. The nose is richly spiced with vanilla. The palate brings layers of sweet stewed fruit and dark chocolate with nutmeg and cinnamon, and the finish has zesty orange, fresh ginger, cocoa and rich fruitcake.
