Early Times Kentucky Whiskey is an American whiskey from the Early Times Distillery in Shively, Kentucky, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It is aged for a minimum of three years.
The spirit is double distilled and matures in heat-cycled warehouses, in previously used oak barrels rather than new charred oak. For that reason it does not carry the bourbon name under US rules.
The nose is reserved at first, then shows soft rose petal, almond, lime zest and new leather. The palate is gentle and smooth, with toasted marshmallow, caramel and a little pineapple. The finish is fairly short, sweet and slightly resinous.
