Early Times is a double-distilled Kentucky whisky in a 750ml bottle, first made in 1860 by John Henry Beam at Early Times Station. It is aged for a minimum of three years in heat-cycled warehouses.
It is matured in seasoned American white oak rather than new oak, so it is classed as a Kentucky whisky and not a straight bourbon. It is made at the Early Times Distillery in Shively.
The colour is deep amber. The nose is spicy with sweet fruit, fresh oak and delicate corn, with vanilla and caramel. The palate opens lively with spice, caramel and vanilla, then fresh and dried fruit. The finish is warm, with hints of apple and corn.
