Early Times Kentucky Whiskey is a double-distilled American whiskey from the Early Times Distillery in Shively, Kentucky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 375ml bottle. It is made from a mashbill of 79% corn, 11% rye and 10% malted barley.
It is aged for a minimum of three years in used oak barrels rather than new charred oak, which is why it is labelled Kentucky Whiskey and not straight bourbon.
Sweet corn and caramel lead the nose, with vanilla and a little berry fruit. The palate is soft, with vanilla, toffee, praline and a hint of pineapple and orange. The finish is medium-short, with vanilla, mild oak and a dry close.
