East London Liquor Co. Pauillac London Rye Whisky (70cl)

This is a single cask London Rye from East London Liquor Company, cask number 218, with 290 bottles drawn from it. It spent seven years in a 225 litre Bordeaux barrique that once held Grand Cru Classé Pauillac wine, made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The mashbill of rye and Maris Otter is fermented long with Belgian ale yeast and lactic bacteria. It is bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or added colour. Cedar and fresh tobacco sit with sloe berries and ripe blackcurrant, alongside red apple, cornflakes and the sweetness of humbugs.
