East London Liquor Company – London Rye 2020 Edition (70cl, 47.2%)

The 2020 edition of London Rye from the East London Liquor Company, an English rye whisky bottled by the distillery at 47.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The mash is 42% malted rye and 58% malted barley. It is distilled using a combination of double pot and column distillation, then aged in a range of casks including virgin French oak, chestnut, STR sherry and bourbon. Tasters mention candied orange peel, sour cherry sweets, toffee apples and chilli peppers, and one describes a desk drawer, in a good way.
