First-fill Bordeaux hogshead
This Edradour is a 25 year old single cask Highland single malt, bottled for the distillery's 200th anniversary. It was distilled on 12 October 1999 and matured in a first-fill Bordeaux hogshead, then bottled on 1 July 2025 at a cask strength of 54.8%. The cask gave 272 numbered bottles. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and comes in a decanter. The long time in Bordeaux wood gives a distinctly winey, fruit-led style, with red berries, blackcurrant, black cherry and blackberry set against dark chocolate, tobacco and polished oak. The nose is blackcurrant jam, ripe plum, honey, vanilla, cigar box and black pepper. The palate is rich, with wine-soaked oak and tobacco leaf. The finish is long and silky, with red fruit, sweet malt and fine tannins.
