Edradour – 21 Bordeaux Cask Finish 1999/2021 (70cl)

This is a 21 year old Edradour single malt from the Highlands, distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2021. It is a non-chill-filtered whisky of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. After maturation it was finished in a Bordeaux cask, a French red wine cask. The bottling is a batch drawn from two casks and filled into 580 bottles. The nose is complex, with red berries, plums, cooked apples and toasted almonds. On the palate come strong espresso, cinnamon, red berry fruit and plum preserve, with a velvety, oily texture. The finish brings campfire ash, old leather, roasted nuts and citrus sweetness.
