Elijah Craig – Toasted Rye Whiskey

Elijah Craig Toasted Rye starts as fully matured Elijah Craig Straight Rye, made from 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley. It is then re-entered at barrel proof into a second, custom toasted new oak barrel, designed with Independent Stave Company. A high-temperature cap at the end of toasting adds a touch of smoke. The nose is toasted oak, crème brûlée, almond and hazelnut. The palate brings milk chocolate and subtle baking spices with a creamy mouthfeel, and the finish is soft and warm, with spices that linger.
