Elsburn Distillery Edition 2025 Batch 005 (70cl, 46%)

This is Batch 005 of the Elsburn Distillery Edition 2025, a German single malt made by Hercynian Distilling Co. and bottled by the distillery itself in 2025. It was bottled at 46% in 4,043 bottles of 70cl, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The cask pool is 50% first-fill Pedro Ximénez, 25% first-fill Palo Cortado and 25% first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. Cake spice and oak give the rich fruit a dry edge, with a light touch of smoke behind. The nose has raisins, mandarin and peach with candied fruit, caramel, toffee and bitter orange. The palate brings raisin cake and plum with vanilla, mandarin and toffee. The finish is medium and warming, with dried fruit and bitter orange fading into dry oak.
