Elsburn The Journey is a six-year-old whisky from Hammerschmiede, bottled as Batch 001.
The nose is rich, fruity and malty, with oak, light coffee and toffee, and raisins, dried apricots and a touch of vanilla in the background. On the palate it is mild, with fruitcake, malt and oak, then apricot alongside vanilla, caramel and raisin, rounded off by a delicate hint of tangerine and dark chocolate.
