An English single malt aged nine years, from the English Distillery and bottled at 61.3% in a 50cl bottle. It is the tenth release under The Liquid Madness label, a partnership between Sebastian Büssing and Tilo Schnabel, known as The Caskhound.
The whisky matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, with no unusual cask experiments or finishes. The release is limited to 100 bottles.
The nose brings dried flowers, herbs and spices, with vanilla, orange blossom, stewed pear, ripe peach and honey. The palate is peppery and powerful, with spiced pastry, toffee, dried apricot, chocolate biscuits and bitter orange marmalade. The finish is long and dry, with chocolate mousse, roasted hazelnuts and dried apple.
