Filey Bay STR Finish is a Yorkshire single malt from the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery on the Yorkshire coast, bottled at 46% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It is made from 100% homegrown barley grown on the family farm in Hunmanby.
The whisky is first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in Rioja red wine barriques that have been shaved, toasted and re-charred (STR).
It is light, floral and fruity, with summer berries and vanilla ice cream over toasted wood, caramel, sour cherry, chocolate and black pepper. The mouthfeel is dense and velvety, and the medium finish is sweet and oaky with a spiciness.
