Fable Whisky Chapter 5 'Hound' Mannochmore 12 Year Old (60.1%)

This is Chapter 5, 'Hound', from Fable Whisky, an independent bottler whose labels carry illustrations of characters and scenes from a story told over several chapters. It is a 12 year old Mannochmore, bottled at 60.1%. Mannochmore was founded in 1971 by John Haig & Co. The nose is spicy and intense, with nutmeg, vanilla custard, shredded coconut, toffee, brown sugar and a little liquorice. The palate is creamy and sweet, with pepper, cinnamon and baked red apples in cream, and hints of banana, orange and lemon with a light smokiness. The finish is long, with ginger and toasty oak, and tastes more spicy than sweet.
