Famous Grouse Smoky Black is a peated blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 1.75 litre bottle. It is built around a peated Glenturret single malt made for this blend, alongside peated Islay malts.
The whisky is matured in European oak sherry casks and American oak casks.
The nose has citrus peel and subtle campfire smoke, with winter spices and oatmeal beneath. The palate is soft and malty, with dried fruit, tangerine, milk chocolate, coffee bean and smoky peat. The finish is long and smoky, drying into cigar tobacco and bran, with dark espresso and currant.
