Fettercairn – 12 Year Old

A 12 year old Fettercairn single malt, matured for those twelve years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. The distillery stands at the foot of the Cairngorms and cools its stills with a ring of running water poured over the copper, an idea developed in the mid-1950s. The nose is amber in the glass, with vanilla, pear and soft spices. The palate brings nectarine and tropical fruit with roasted coffee, then clove and ginger. The spices carry into a finish of dark toffee.
