Fettercairn – 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Fettercairn 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt, matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is the entry-level expression in the Fettercairn range, which was relaunched in 2018 under the distillery's owners, Whyte & Mackay. Sweet patisserie and chocolate flavours sit at the front, with a hint of old-style Fettercairn funk in the background. The colour is described as sunlight and amber honey. On the palate there is vanilla and pear with soft spices. The finish brings nectarine and tropical fruit, then roasted coffee, clove and ginger, ending on sultanas and black toffee.
