Fettercairn – 24 Year Old is a whisky from Fettercairn (Highland). Aged 24 years, bottled at 44.4% ABV, 70cl. One of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland, Fettercairn was opened in 1825 and after having many owners - including Sir John Gladstone, father of 4-time British Prime Minister William Gladstone - is currently at the heart of the Whyte & Mackay range. The malt produced is predominantly used in the blends produced by Whyte & Mackay but they also produce their own range of aged single malts. This 24 Year Old comes from Fettercairn’s newly redesigned range, and was distilled on the winter solstice. Serge Valentin of WhiskyFun.com commented that this is “an old Highlander in velvet gloves.
