The Gauger's Reserve is a Highland single malt from Fettercairn, a distillery hand-fill made to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary. It is cask 001, distilled in 2015 and bottled in August 2026 at cask strength, 54.3%, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent time in beer casks before being re-racked into ex-Heaven Hill bourbon casks.
The nose has mango, honeyed apricot, toasted almonds and subtle spices. The palate is layered, with stone fruits, roasted hazelnuts, marzipan and spiced orange, balanced by creamy vanilla and sweet malt. The finish is dried fruit with a delicate nuttiness.
